New update featuring improved combat mechanics and more!


We have released a major update that addresses much of the feedback we have received! We're proud to share a new and improved version of Necrofugitive!

Both Queenswood and Old Saint’s cathedral are now wave based, survival scenarios, with a secret cutscene for players who manage to beat them!

Stages

  • The spawn system in both stages have been reworked into a 10 wave survival mode. The difficulty curve has been drastically redesigned to be more forgiving towards players still learning the game.
  • A short cutscene awaits those who manage to survive all 10 waves. (An added bonus also exists for players who manage to beat the scenario with over 50% health remaining!)

Art

  • added LT and RT prompts to ability rose

Balance

Player

  • Jump no longer requires stamina to perform.
  • Many attacks now have small windows where the player may change their direction.
  • Guarding starts slightly faster now.
  • You can now change directions while guarding.
  • You can now change directions at the end of a roll and between consecutive rolls.
  • Tendril lash can now hit targets closer to the player if no enemies are at the apex.
  • Breaking an arrow with an attack now yields a small amount of AP.
  • Players now regain 33% of their total health when transforming into monster form.
  • Dash now knocks back targets on hit.
  • Catching onto a ledge should be more forgiving now.
  • Hellfire now deals damage to all targets (including your minions!)
  • Hellfire now slowly pushes enemies back based on their stagger resistance
  • Hellfire can now break shields
  • Hellfire has a small startup speed boost if combo'd into
  • Hellfire DPS increased from 150 to 300
  • Hellfire AP cost increased from 2 to 3
  • Stampede cost reduced from 3 to 2
  • Clobber cost reduced from 2 to 1
  • Clobber now hits 1 extra target
  • Summon ravagers AP cost reduced from 4 to 3

Enemies

  • Characters in the knockback state will no longer switch to their stagger animation mid-air when hit.
  • Shields can now block hellfire damage
  • Shields can now block otherwise guard-breaking attacks
  • Enemy stagger resist is now only granted during the height of their attack windup instead of the whole animation

Fixes

  • Fixed some menu options appearing to stay selected even when you navigate away from them
  • Fixed an issue where the pause menu may disappear permanently if you close the pause menu while viewing the controls.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes the player’s jump is much shorter than it should have been if they were running towards a decline in terrain.
  • Changed the way the ability system spends AP. When casting an ability AP will not be spent until that ability has started. This fixes an issue where players will sometimes spend AP trying to cast something and then it never comes out.
  • Fixed an issue where players can fall while climbing a ledge if they pressed down or back while climbing.
  • Fixed an issue where the death screen will not appear if you die while hanging on to a ledge
  • Fixed an issue where players were not able to click on the levels in the level select menu

Misc

  • Arrows now clean up after 30 seconds of being inactive.
  • added advanced lighting graphics option to turn off all the lighting.postprocessing.

Unity Diagnostics

  • Added a new user report system that logs player bug reporting, performance issues, and suggestions. The report button can be found in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
