Big Stealth Demo Update!
Necrofugitive Demo » Devlog
We've released a big update for our stealth demo, replete with a huge number of bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, and more. One of the biggest changes is our move to Unity 2019.4, which brings a host of performance and functionality improvements. This update brings us closer to our true vision of the game, and we hope you enjoy it!
Stages
- Queenswood enemy waves have been adjusted to be slightly more forgiving to newcomers.
- Old Saint's enemy waves have been completely redesigned to accommodate a new enemy type!
- Added restart level option to pause menu
Art/Visuals
- Lighting and normal maps have been tuned up to address visual artifacts that were appearing on character sprites while standing in rendered lighting
- Halo lighting has been adjusted to behave dynamically based on surroundings. No more blindingly bright sprites
- Animations have been completed for a brand new enemy type, which can be found waiting in the Old Saint's Cathedral
- Updated UI to be slightly more compact
- Added a new attack to ravager minions
- Alarm overhead alerts now remain visible until the guard either rings the bell or dies
- Halo lighting will fade out and disappear from dead enemies
Gameplay/Balance
- Assimilating a corpse now heals you 10 health/second over 5 seconds. Taking damage will stop regeneration
- AP/sec gain is increased by 50% while stationary or stalking
- Guard jump height has been slightly lowered so they appear less like superman ninjas
- Ledge climbing is slightly more forgiving for both players and AI
- Morale shocks are slightly more consistent now
- Enemies now have cooldowns per attack instead of one cooldown for all attacks (meaning that AI can now chain one attack after the other. Be careful!)
- Alarms now alert all enemies in the level for a set duration, and will start roaming the level actively looking for you
- Added a cancel window to guard
AI/Misc Bug fixes
- Fixed a bug where AI would run in place indefinitely
- AI now have a delayed reaction to hearing audio alerts
- AI navigation has been tuned up to address a number of issues with indefinite looping or navigation hiccups
- Fixed an issue where characters would climb through passable terrain and immediately fall through
- Fixed stampede ending prematurely
- Fixed stampede being able to be used backwards
- Fixed ravagers using footman voice lines
- Fixed players being able to transform again after all the waves end
- Fixed being able to summon ravagers after all the waves end
- Fixed projectiles going through terrain
- Fixed a number of missing hitbox issues
- Options menu is now interactable with mouse cursor
